The Tanzania Fintech Association (TAFINA) is the umbrella body for fintech companies in Tanzania. Established in March 2023, it serves as a unified voice for the fintech industry, focusing on performance, growth, policy advocacy, and service standards to drive financial inclusion.

TAFINA’s mission is to create a platform that unites stakeholders in the fintech industry, fostering meaningful innovation and promoting best practices in an approachable and cooperative manner. Its vision is to nurture, grow, and empower the fintech ecosystem in Tanzania to further financial and economic inclusion.

TAFINA welcomes membership from fintech companies and key stakeholders actively engaged in Tanzania’s fintech ecosystem. We offer a range of membership tiers designed to suit varying levels of involvement, interests, and organizational needs.

TAFINA offers the following membership packages:

• Bronze (Tzs. 500,000/year): Access to fintech meetups, exhibitions, and company logo display on the TAFINA website.tafina.or.tz

• Silver (Tzs. 2,000,000/year): Includes Bronze benefits plus access to local and international fintech opportunities, exposure visits, global conferences, and linkage meetups with venture capitalists and angel investors.tafina.or.tz

• Gold (Tzs. 3,500,000/year): Includes Silver benefits plus fintech distribution channels, reference epicenter linking to member validation services, fostering member interconnectedness, and collaboration on training and nurturing fintech talent.tafina.or.tz

• Platinum (Tzs. 5,000,000/year): Includes Gold benefits plus automatic membership of all TAFINA forums, free participation tickets at TAFINA festivals, freedom to join multiple committees, and top-level recognition.tafina.or.tz

• Partners (Free): Strategic title partners receive access to reports, research studies, surveys on fintech trends, free entry and speaking slots at select TAFINA events, and appearance on the website and branded materials.

You can apply for membership by filling out the application form available on our website under the “Become a Member” section. Once submitted, our team will review your application and follow up with the next steps, including payment details and onboarding.

TAFINA organizes various events, including conferences, workshops, seminars, and the East Africa Investment Forum (EAIF), which brings together fintech stakeholders from across the region to discuss innovation, investment, and collaboration opportunities.

The EAIF is a collaborative initiative orchestrated by TAFINA in partnership with fintech communities in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The forum aims to converge on the thriving landscape of fintech within East Africa, spotlight innovation, investment, and collaborative opportunities. It serves as a vital platform for driving meaningful dialogue, encouraging partnerships, and attracting investments that contribute to the advancement and sustainable growth of the financial technology industry in the region.
